On January 19, 2022, the NEFCO General Policy Board approved the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) 2022 Annual Performance Report. The 2022 Annual Performance Report provides an update on the region’s economic conditions and priorities, evaluates the NEFCO region’s progress on the goals and objectives contained in the 2018 CEDS Update, and details significant events and issues that have occurred since the publication of the 2021 Annual Performance Report. The CEDS is a locally-based, regionally-driven economic development planning process and document that engages the region’s communities and economic development partners to foster prosperity and resiliency. The CEDS plan is reviewed annually by the Regional CEDS Committee, which drives the development of the CEDS. Updates and progress are reported in the Annual Performance Report. Every five years the CEDS plan is fully updated. The most recent CEDS plan, the 2018 CEDS Update, can be found here. Preparation of the CEDS plan and the annual performance reports is required by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), as part of NEFCO’s Partnership Planning Grant and maintains the agency’s status as an EDA-designated Economic Development District and the region’s eligibility for EDA grant funding.
